Northpoint 02:37
Wake up to a kingdom of moonlight cold Falling down easy through a storm Cloudy curtain lifts from the windowpane Sea of lights shimmer far beneath It's a lonely, lonely place It's a lonely, lonely place It’s the only place I need It’s the only place for me Close my arms around me as I walk alone Streetlight blue shadows, watch them grow Close me into darkness and my newfound home In this deep winter that I roam In the autumn came a breeze Called me here in all my grief Now the pain, it starts to leave As I feel my body freeze
2.
Into My Home 04:15
I don't want to waste away alone Sitting all night by the telephone I can hear the scratching underground Bringing up madness into town And into my home Into my home Into my home Into my home Early morning rise up from the floor Dirty grey light dripping through the storm Pools in my head and out my eyes Now it feels right to steel my mind And open that door Open that door See the day born See what it’s for I gave myself the time to look around I found myself alone, at least for now Every sound I hear is close behind They follow me inside, all in good time Into my home Into my home Into my home Into my home
3.
Newly born and though I can barely stand I make sure I can see through the open door You make me feel almost unreal Keep speaking, you might reveal some secrets I've never seen Autumn breaking, we're silent making our way down through the door In the country, we're feeling lucky Spinning red scarves in the moor You gotta be brave to see what I've got behind these eyes No one was willing to see me unless they broke down the doors, and you tried Wispy midnight and chills that so tightly grasp my body and try To pull me into a place where I will be sure not to let you survive You gotta think on your own and be sure I won't make you walk home alone Because sometimes people get hurt in these ancient woods
4.
The Inn 03:22
Pushing me all around Bringing me down in time I feel the charging, marching sound inside All of my life I've been Waiting for it to end It crowds me, drowns me, once again He is a strange young man He never shook their hands He walked the streets at night alone, again In the day, by the phone Sits in the room alone And waits for someone to call Isn't it sad my friend? I can remember when We could talk all on our own Didn't need the telephone How did I choose this town? I don't remember how Please show me, help me understand again Up until just today Caught up in worlds of grey If only you'd phone me, I'd be free You're who I came to see I don't want silence, please I need you, you see through, right through me All of our lives we've been Waiting for this moment So come through, won't you? You will see And until then I won't Make a single note I'll sing no longer until she speaks

See Me 04:07
See me, come on, see me Come on, show me what you're not I'm feeling two foot small Can you show me? Come on, can you know me? Come on Feel me, Come on, steal me Come on, I'm the one you want And I can give it all You don't know me, you can't throw me Come on, push me 'round again You never know what's where You can't ignore me, not when I'm imploring Come on Take me, Come on, break me Come on, show me what you got It sure won't be for long Because you're only hoping to control me Come on
6.
Take a little dose of this, roll out in the snow and keep yourself hid I don't need a telephone to call you in the day, just think of me now I don't need that laughing sound I don't want words, don't talk at all I wanted one good day, But I could only wish; I'm feeling ashamed I got a blacktop cat on the way, I got a blue suede that never obeys I got one more time to be late I need no one And in this silent place, All the city hogs go slowly insane You take away their mud-soaked skies, Throw them in a place that's really alive Oh Godiva, you're alright You're feeling it now, I see it swim in your eyes So come and walk with me, Look up at the stars and say what you see You've got a mainline into your mind You gotta know now, you never will die You need a friend who's the star in your eye You need someone As the evening sun melts down, Streets are sitting still, there's no one in town Take the time to walk around And open up your eyes, there's more to be found And we are here today That is all I have, there's nothing to say Now I begin to fall There's nothing you can do, so don't talk at all Break down the lines in your head, All the old rhymes that only bring death You will know me for what I am, then You'll know it all

Hey Petunia 02:58
Hey Petunia, it's gonna be alright 'cause you're never gonna need no one In the morning, you're gonna feel alright And you're gonna face right to the sun And baby, walking 'round like you're crazy Everybody's so hazy In your mind you're a daisy You might think that you're a'fadin', but you don't know who you are Hey Petunia, the fire's in your eyes I can feel it when you walk this way And I'm sure that you've known it all along, You just never had the nerve to say There's no one you're fooling more than your own babe, Don't tell yourself that you're lonely The world was made for you only You and me, we go our own ways But end up where we belong Back to the mud of where you come from, Everybody asking "is it almost over?" You were the one who grew for the sun, Everybody else was only picking clover Into the cold now, where you were born Nothing in your way could ever really fold you Sing it again, and don't hold your breath, Everybody's waiting; they all wanna know you Hey Petunia, the clouds are in the sky and the morning is a'risin' grey Hold yourself so firm into the ground, the sun will not be here today Now the wind, it cuts across your face as you strain your crying eyes to see All the places you ever could have roamed, You never should have followed me

How... 02:34
How is it that I have gotten everything and still I feel no life? How is it that you can still adore me even when I've tricked your mind, now? Falling ever downward through the mornings, justice like a chilling haze I've been told it's not unusual for these things to last for days and days and days... When I hit this town I was feeling good for just a week or maybe two Dodging every mirror and doing what I could to forget you But just tonight I caught my eye inside a shop window right downtown It all came rushing back and in a moment all that I could think was "how?"

Eternal Life 03:44
Could you pull yourself away from here? Standing on the edge, your eyes are clear Clouds are moving in, but have no fear You stand inside it all, your time is near The water and the wind inhale the storm, Breathe eternal life into us all You feel above your head the swirling sky The wind will carry you far from this time Close your tired eyes, you have no choice Deep inside your lungs you find your voice
10.
A quiet house in the woods, far away That's all I want, want with you here today We'll have it all, nothing left up to chance And in the deep, haunted night we will dance' And anytime I feel the pain, I feel the strain coming in, I'll leave it all at your gate And every day we'll begin again Many a night I've walked alone in my head Seeing faces I should have long left for dead And in the moonlit mountain streams, I've seen your eyes I've given up any faith in my disguise And any time you call my name, You find yourself laid to waste, I'll take you far from this time And we'll return to our sacred place
11.
Open Road 05:55
Still waiting for you here, but I think it's time To take the open road and make it mine One soul is rolling on, and one's left behind I know I'll never find a place to hide Along a mountain road through the misty light I've got the feeling something must arrive The dream awakes you now and the mist rolls by The valley moving on beyond the sky Free, somehow We begin now
12.
In my own contented life, felt her drain from my mind's eye My only hope was moving on Only time will tell what went wrong And I feel love in my mind's eye and in-between, love And I hope that you'll believe in what you are And I'll be running through my moving, scented dreams And we'll meet there It's from there that I'll never leave And I feel fine Bringing colors I could not have seen Tearing blank pages right out of me Voices crowd at the start of the day Eyes all clear to show me on my way And I'm running down the valley under the stars And I see you, see you walking not very far And I feel love in my mind's eye and in-between And I see you It's from here that we'll never leave And I feel fine

about

This is a semi-concept album. The songs are tied together by strange visions of a fictional place called Northpoint. I've had the idea for this album for a very long time, and I'm so excited that it's finally out in the world.
The songs themselves are mostly based around acoustic guitar, but with plenty of electric flourishes and atmospherics to create a wintery, mysterious mood.
